Fear Provoking Statements

The Israelites in Exodus 14:12 expressed their desire to remain as slaves in Egypt, despite fervently praying for deliverance. Their fear of the unknown clouded their judgment and made them forget their past suffering. This teaches us that our fears can make us say things we don’t mean and bring out statements of defeat and submission.

It’s easy to criticize the Israelites for their lack of faith and trust in God, but we should also remember the terrible things we’ve said out of fear and panic. Fear is a powerful weapon the devil uses to make people accept defeat and lose the battle of life. However, we can overcome fear by standing firm and confessing positive things.

Our words and utterances are powerful, and the devil knows how important our confessions are. Therefore, we should always confess positive things and affirm our progression instead of expressing retrogression.

In the book of Judges, we read about people who expressed defeat before they even fought the army of Gideon, and their words of fear led to their total defeat. God warned the Israelites that he would do as he heard them say (Numbers 14:28).

Therefore, we should always confess positive things and affirm our progression instead of expressing retrogression. Our fears will disappear when we express our faith through positive confessions. By doing so, we can overcome fear and achieve the victories we desire in life.
