    What Did You See?

    WHAT DID YOU SEE

In life, what we see matters most in every aspect of our life. Things may not be going too well with us, but our confessions matter most. Naturally, what we see in certain situations may not be good or pleasant, but if we see from God’s perspective and confess His Words, there will be a new dawn. That is why the scriptures mandated us to walk by faith and not by sight.

Seeing from a natural perspective brings worries, confusion, etc., while faith reveals abundance amid scarcity. We will see an ease in the midst of hardship.

    Mark 8:22-26 NLT

22 They came to Bethsaida, and some people brought a blind man and begged Jesus to touch him. 23 He took the blind man by the hand and led him outside the village. When he had spit on the man’s eyes and put his hands on him, Jesus asked, “Do you see anything? “24 He looked up and said, “I see people; they look like trees walking around.”

25 Once more, Jesus put his hands on the man’s eyes. Then his eyes were opened, his sight was restored, and he saw everything. 26 Jesus sent him home, saying, “Don’t even go into the village.”

Like the case of the blind man, there will be moments in our life when we find ourselves spiritually hurting or in need of healing. We may lack the faith to believe Jesus can do anything for us, so we question, “Does He care about me?” Jesus cares!

The first thing Jesus did for the man in our text was to take him away from the crowd, his people and his environment. Christ knew he might be distracted by the sympathizers, friends and family. This implies that the first preparedness for divine intervention is a deeper fellowship with Jesus. He needed one on one encounters with him. The environment and people with whom we associate will show the level of what we see. Christ needed a closer walk with us now for complete healing.

The next step in this man’s miraculous healing was that he was touched by Jesus and was commanded to say what he saw. At first, he didn’t see well because he’s been blind for a long time. However, with a second touch of the messiah, he saw clearly.

Perhaps we have not seen clearly as the Lord wants us to see. The Lord will touch us today in Jesus’ name. Let us begin to see from God’s perspective as we match unto victory this week.
