    God Wants to Showcase you

    GOD WANTS TO SHOWCASE YOU

“On the seventh day, when the heart of the king was merry with wine, he commanded Mehuman, Biztha, Harbona, Bigtha, Abagtha, Zethar, and Carcas, the seven chamberlains that served in the presence of Ahasuerus the king, To bring Vashti the queen before the king with the royal crown, to shew the people and the princes her beauty: for she was fair to look on.” – Esther 1:10–11.

The Book of Esther is one of the books in the Bible where the name of God is not explicitly mentioned, even though God played a major role indirectly in the Book. Queen Vashti was not just married to King Ahasuerus. Of course, he knew he was married to a beautiful woman, but he did not want to keep the sense of his wife’s beauty to himself alone; he wanted everyone in his provinces to also have, feel, and experience the sense of beauty of his wife.

Did you know that God also wants the world to experience the beauty within you? Why did the King decide to showcase his wife’s beauty that day?

    1. He wanted to present her to the entire people of his kingdom. Just like God wants to present you to the world to show that He still has men like you. He wants people in your place of work, environment, school, and society to know that such distinguished, uncompromising men like you still exist and are present and active, even though the world thought men like you had gone into extinction. God is saying no; I still preserve a few. (1 Corinthians 4:9; 1 Kings 19:18)

    2. The King was proud of his wife. Did you know that God is very proud of you? Everything about you gives Him pleasure, He is confident of you, and He considers you a special person to Him. (1 Peter 2:9)

    3. The King sent for her. Similarly, God wants you where He is. He does not want you to operate, live your life, run your business, or run the Ministry. He has committed to your hands independently. He wants to be involved in every aspect of your life. He knows the danger of leaving you to run it alone and does not want you to endanger your life or the lives of the people around you. That is why He always wants you to maintain a close fellowship/relationship with Him.

    4. The King wanted his wife to display her beauty (Esther 1:11). God is so interested in beauty that He wants to display you to the whole world so that you can express your beauty purposefully. Which beauty are we talking about here? Your beauty is the combination of characteristics that express godliness, righteousness, purity, and sanctification in your life. God wants people to come to Him merely because they have seen your beauty. Can your beauty draw anyone to Christ or repel them away from Christ?

Check the kind of beauty you express whenever God is showcasing you to the world. Can God still showcase you? Haven’t you disappointed Him on several occasions when He showcased you?

Action Point: Think about these questions as a child of God and repent so that He will not summarily replace you as King Ahasuerus did to Queen Vashti.
