Continuous Growth and Progress

One of the most beautiful expressions of God’s wisdom is the growth of a tiny seed into a gigantic tree.
Jesus tells the parable of the growing seed in Mark 4:28. First we see the blade, then the head, and finally the full grain in the head.
While the parable focuses mainly on the growth of the seed of God’s word in the heart of man, this analogy also shows how life is in multiple stages.
It is important for us to understand and embrace the various stages of life we find ourselves in. Otherwise, we may be agitated and depressed for a long time. At every stage, we must see that God is working in us and for us.
It may be ‘frustrating’ to be at the blade stage (the green tender shoot that comes up first). At this stage, the blade is still small and inedible. But this stage is important for gaining strength and stamina through regular irrigation and sunshine.
If you’re experiencing a period where it feels like you’re not making a significant impact or achieving the desired results, don’t worry. He knows exactly what He’s doing. It may not seem like it, because growth is a gradual process, not spontaneous.
In His own time, He will bring you to the level of the full corn – the strong, edible, and multipurpose produce. When people see the diverse manifestations of God in your life, they may not remember when you were still a blade.
The perspective to have is: I carry the Seed of Christ in me. I am growing, progressing, and getting better. I trust and embrace His process.
