    BEWARE OF ENTICEMENT_

The book of 2 Samuel 11:2-4 recounts how King David was enticed by the beauty of Bath-sheba while walking on his roof. Despite her being Uriah’s wife, David sent for her and committed adultery. Unfortunately, this act of enticement led to disastrous consequences for both parties.

Proverbs 1:10 warns against giving in to the temptation of sinners, as enticement can be dangerous and poisonous. Falling into enticement is like falling into a deep pit. Therefore, it is crucial to remain vigilant and attentive to detect enticement, just like a bomb detector detects hidden explosives. To detect enticement, one needs to be in the realm of the Spirit as it is one of the devil’s tools to deceive and lure people into sin.

Judges 14:15, Mark 14:44, and Proverbs 20:17 are examples of how enticements have led to people’s downfall. Therefore, it is essential to be cautious when someone sends wrong signals, especially those of the opposite gender. Gifts can also be coded with meaning and influence one’s decisions.

To overcome enticement, one should watch and pray, meditate on God’s word, and make the Holy Spirit their best friend. It is also crucial to avoid tempting zones, stay away from those who try to influence one to commit sin and resist the devil. In conclusion, enticement is a tool of the devil, and one needs to be watchful and prayerful to avoid being lured into it.
