    YOUR WORD IS A SEED

“So shall my word be that goes forth out of my mouth: it shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it.” — Isaiah 55:11 We live in a kingdom that is governed by our words. “As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as you have spoken in mine ears, so will I do.” The words you speak determine your worth in the school of life. What do you say to yourself during challenging times? Are those words negative or positive? Today’s text makes it clear: every word that comes out of your mouth is powerful and does not return empty; it achieves what you intend.

Your words can either bring forth rain or establish drought. Many individuals are experiencing a spiritual dry season because they continually speak dry words into their lives. Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it will reap its fruit. — Proverbs 18:21 Death and life lie in your tongue, and it’s time to choose what you express. It’s imperative to start nurturing the fruits of your labor with the words you speak. No excuse is valid for failure. Your speech can either cultivate or undermine the seeds you plant. For example, some businesspeople often say, “Nothing is working in this place,” and that mindset likely contributes to their lack of success. Parents who lash out at their children in anger only contribute to their misbehavior and public disgrace. Spouses cursing each other undermine their relationships and give the enemy a foothold.

Every word you speak is a seed for your future. What you declare today will manifest tomorrow. “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” — Luke 8:11. How much of the Word of God is coming from your lips? Those who dwell on their problems remain ensnared by them. One effective way to receive healing from sickness is by making confident declarations: “I am healed from this sickness,” or “I enjoy divine health in my body.” When you store the Word of God in your heart and speak it boldly, you are sowing seeds of freedom in your life.

Consider this: Joshua commanded the sun to stand still upon Gibeon, and it obeyed (Joshua 10:12-13). David asked the LORD to turn the wisdom of Ahithophel into foolishness, and the LORD granted his request (2 Samuel 15:31). Always speak the right words to get the right results. The proof of your belief lies in your declarations: “I shall not fail; no evil shall befall me; my going out and coming in are secure by the blood of Jesus.” One major reason people fail to speak positively into their lives is that they are too consumed with the negative news of the world instead of the transformative Word of God. Do not allow circumstances to dictate your speech; instead, use your words to shape your circumstances. Your spiritual authority rests in your tongue, and it is time to wield it wisely.

Prayer: Father, please help me to always speak words that are seasoned with salt, in Jesus’ name. I boldly cancel every negative word spoken into my life in the name of Jesus.
