PAY ATTENTION TO THE WORD

Proverbs 4:20-22 My son, attend to my words; incline thine ear unto my sayings. Let them not depart from thine eyes; keep them in the midst of thine heart. For they are life unto those that find them, and health to all their flesh. 

The word of God is great with creative and formative power.  With this word, God created the heavens and the earth. This word has the power to change and transform; 2Corinthians 3:18 says,  ‘But we all, with open face beholding as in a glass the glory of the Lord, are changed into the same image from glory to glory, even as by the Spirit of the Lord. If we want to be changed; if we want to be transformed into the same image as he is, we must behold him and set our gaze on him.

This word has the power to heal and deliver. Psalms 107:20 says,  He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions. Healings from sickness and emotional distress come through the word. Deliverance from self, sin, and satan comes from the word. Whatever you could desire is found in the word of God.

The word is quick and powerful. It is a discerner of hidden things Hebrews 4:12 says, For the word of God is quick, and powerful, and sharper than any two-edged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the thoughts and intents of the heart. It searches out every hidden intent in the spirit and soul of man.

The word cleanses and purifies. John 17:17 says, Sanctify them through thy truth: thy word is truth. It is the word of God that cleanses us from all filth and guilt.

The word feeds and satisfies. Jeremiah 15:16  says, Thy words were found, and I did eat them; and thy word was unto me the joy and rejoicing of mine heart: for I am called by thy name, O LORD God of hosts. The word of God satisfies the hunger and the longings of our souls.

What should be your attitude to this word?

Pay attention to it, incline your heart to it, let it not depart from your eyes, keep them in the midst of your heart.

Jos 1:8 says, This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success. 

Read it, study it, speak it with your mouth, meditate on it, and do it. This will make you a workman who need not be ashamed, gleaning from the riches of the word of truth. 2Timothy 2:15
