How to Enjoy God’s Best
Our world system has infused an impossibility mindset into us such that it’s difficult to believe God’s report in our situations. So many people have the mentality that it is difficult to enjoy God’s goodness in all its fullness. This perception limits them from enjoying God’s best. Did I say, enjoy God’s best? What on earth does that mean? The book of Romans 8:31-34 gave some insights:
What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us the right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one—for Christ Jesus died for us and was raised to life for us, and he is sitting in the place of honor at God’s right hand, pleading for us.
To enjoy God’s best is to possess, embrace, and partake in all the goodness, blessings and abundant life of God given to us through our Lord Jesus Christ. Simply put, to enjoy God’s best is to live a life without impossibility, a life full of hope and success.
Paul taught this experience in the book of Romans when he said since he did not spare even his own Son but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? That is amazing! We can have all things just because we are children of God. God gave us his best when Jesus died for our sins and set us free to become God’s children. He wants us to enjoy the dividend of that his best.
Similarly, Jeremiah heard God saying, I know the thoughts that I think toward you, saith the LORD, thoughts of peace, and not of evil, to give you an expected end [hope and a future, New International Version] (brackets mine). Jeremiah 29:11
The word came to Jeremiah at a point of national confusion and discomfort. The children of Israel thought God had forsaken them. But God told Jeremiah that is not true. He is thinking about them, and his thought is to give them peace, hope and a bright future. He further told them to do one more thing: “Then shall ye call upon me, and ye shall go and pray unto me, and I will hearken unto you. And ye shall seek me and find me when ye shall search for me with all your heart.” (Jeremiah 29:12-13).
However, I know some situations make us feel that God has forsaken us. Perhaps you have prayed but yet to get answers to your request. These negative experiences may propel thoughts of mediocrity and perception of the impossibility of enjoying God’s best.
How can we enjoy God’s best amid overwhelming life challenges?
Know what God says about your situation- knowledge is power. What you don’t know, you can experience. The first step is to understand what the word of God says about what we are experiencing. That knowledge comes from a regular study of the word of God.
Believe the word of God- you can’t experience God’s best if you don’t believe the word of God.
Trust God with your all heart- trusting God for his word is a higher level of expression of faith. It takes a positive attitude to trust God in challenging times. Our attitude to situations is a measure of our trust in God and his words. Nobody gets to this point by mistake; it takes a process and requires an attitude, determination, and a posture of our heart. God has so much more for you than you are experiencing right now. We need to put off negative attitudes that make us feel unworthy to receive our healing, breakthrough, blessings, and more.
Finally, do not forget that God has already given us his best; you just need to enjoy that best of God. You are to enjoy divine healing, prosperity, favour, and all the benefits available in Christ. The same power that raised Jesus from the dead is already in us (Eph. 1:18-20). Like Apostle Paul, we must fight the good fight of faith, stir up ourselves in the place of prayer and study of the word. Remember, all you will ever need has been provided; it’s time to learn how to receive. Do not allow mediocrity to erode all that God has prepared for you.
