All Round Peace
“And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship so that it was now full. And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him and say unto him, Master, carest thou not that we perish? And he arose and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm”. – Mathew 8:23-27, Mark 4:37-39
There are moments when you are troubled and with a heart filled with trembling with everything that surrounds you; this is when what you need most is the peace of God.
The above account in the scripture is about the troubled sea, Jesus, and His disciples. The disciples were troubled by the sea’s tempest wind, and the fear of perishing overwhelmed them. The storm caused the disciples to fear for their lives, but the intervention of Jesus Christ calmed the tempest sea.
In the journey of life, peace is so important; the most important thing is peace in the face of struggles, trials, and problems. He assures us that whatever storm we face, He is the mighty God over everything.
The guarantee of peace is knowing Jesus. John 14:27 says, “Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid\”.
Jesus assured His disciples of peace not as it is in the world but a gift no man can offer. He says, ‘let not your heart be troubled.
