THE WORD YOU SPEAK IS A SEED

So shall My word be that goes forth out of My mouth: it shall not return unto Me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereunto I sent it. — Isaiah 55:11
We live in a kingdom that is governed by what we say. “As truly as I live, saith the LORD, as you have spoken to Mine ears, so will I do.” The words we speak determine our worth in the school of life. What do you usually say to yourself, especially in times of challenge? Are those words negative or positive? In today’s text, the word inspires us by reminding us that every word that goes out of our mouth does not return to us empty. It accomplishes what we send it to do. The words we speak either bring rain or establish drought. Many people suffer through a dry season because they speak dry words over their lives.
Death and life are in the power of the tongue, and those who love it shall eat the fruit thereof. — Proverbs 18:21
Both death and life lie in our tongue, so it depends on which side we choose to tune our tongue to. Beloved, it is time to begin to nurture the labor of our hands with the words we speak. No reason is sufficient for us to accept failure. How you speak is how you nurture the seeds you sow.
Some businesspeople in Nigeria often say, “Nothing is working in Nigeria,” and perhaps that is why their businesses are not profitable. Some parents tend to curse their children when they are angry, which leads to misbehavior and public disgrace. Sometimes spouses curse each other, even resorting to extreme measures, and the devil is eager to seize on such actions to ensure that the curse is established.
Another important point is that every word you speak is a seed. Whatever you say now is a seed that will manifest tomorrow. “Now the parable is this: The seed is the word of God.” — Luke 8:11. How much of the Word of God finds expression on your lips? People who constantly talk about their problems never find freedom from them. One way to receive healing from any sickness is through declarations such as “I am healed from this sickness” or “I enjoy divine health in my body.” When you store the Word of God in your heart and express it with your mouth, you are sowing seeds of freedom in your life.
Joshua spoke to the sun to stand still upon Gibeon, and it stood still (Joshua 10:12-13). Similarly, David asked the LORD to turn the wisdom of Ahithophel into foolishness, and the LORD granted his request (2 Samuel 15:31). Always speak the right words so that you will attain the right results. The only way to prove that you believe in something is when you say it aloud: “I shall not fail; no evil shall befall me; my going out and coming in is secure by the blood of Jesus,” etc.
One reason some people don’t speak good words into their lives is that they are too distracted by the news of the world, rather than being consumed by the word that can transform their lives. Don’t allow situations to control your speech; use your speech to control situations. Our spiritual authority lies in our tongue, and we must use it wisely.
Prayer:
Father, please help me to always speak words that are seasoned with salt, in Jesus’ name.
I cancel every negative word spoken into my life in the name of Jesus.
