The Power of a Little Seed
Little things may seem insignificant and can be easily overlooked or underestimated. However, as the popular adage goes, “half a loaf is better than none.” Even though something may appear insufficient, there is immense power in sowing that little seed.
Once, a widow, who was the wife of a deceased prophet, approached Prophet Elisha for help. He asked her, “What do you have in the house?” She had little faith in what she had, but she had something.
The same was true for the disciples of Jesus Christ after a long teaching session on the mountain, when Jesus asked for food. They only had a small amount of food brought by a young boy. But that meager amount of food became an abundance.
Therefore, do not underestimate the potential of your small and insignificant abilities. There is something in you, around you, and within you that God has given you to ensure that you are not put to shame. Every little thing has the capacity to become great. Consider the mighty mustard tree in comparison to its seed.
The continuity in the drop of water can create a vast ocean. The continual drop of oil from the widow’s pot produced several pots that saved her and her sons from slavery and poverty. Your little seed has the potential to answer your needs. To secure the blessings of God Almighty over the little you have, you need to have an intimate relationship with God through salvation. This will make God recognize you as His child, friend, and lover. Finally, as you take this bold step and continue on this path, the Lord God will breathe over all that you have and cause it to become mighty.
