Peace is Everyone’s Worship
“Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called children of God.” – Matthew 5:9
“If it is possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.” – Romans 12:18
Peace is a state of tranquility and harmony, the absence of violence. Jesus Christ was telling His disciples in the anchor Scripture that the peacemaker shall be called the children of God. Likewise, Apostle Paul was addressing the Romans and he made it clear that to the best of your capabilities, live peaceably with all men. This is also the same thing as it is in marriage.
Living peacefully is fundamental to happiness and joy in life. Peacefulness involves avoidance of conflict and coping constructively during the conflict. It implies knowing how to forgive and forbearing one another. To live peacefully, we need to embrace Jesus and his teaching for he is the one who gives true Peace.
The peace a person needs is the one that comes from the depth of the soul. Peacefulness is symbolic of the children of God: for they shall be called children of God. God’s children are to portray peace wherever they are found. They should live peacefully and make peace reign in their abode.
This peace should be showcased in every aspect of our lives including our marriage and work. Couples should live peacefully irrespective of their differences and disagreements. A Christian home should not conclude a day without settling every argument and disagreement that could affect their peace.
Similarly, every child of God must live a peaceful life with their neighbors, co-workers and relatives. Ensuring a peaceful abode is a way of confirming our faith in Christ. While peace is not an absence of troubles but a symbol of victory, we must embrace peace even when we are troubled.
As much as we don’t want to starve our stomachs, we must not starve our relationship. Peace is what every relationship feeds on. Be peaceful and may God’s peace be with you.
