Holy Spirit: Our Teacher
“But the comforter, which is the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” John 14:26
The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of truth, which guides a believer in the path of righteousness. The Christian journey would have been impossible without the Holy Spirit. We would have had to be reminded every now and then of God’s commandments and obeying them would have been grievous.
Nevertheless, the Holy Spirit makes this journey easy. Let’s see some of the works He does.
He teaches us the laws of God. He sets us on the path of righteousness. He corrects us and leads us in such a way that we would never fall into error. Even before the error comes, he warns us ahead of it.
The Holy Spirit keeps us in check. He helps us maintain fellowship with God due to the purity of heart that yielding to his counsel affords us.
The Holy Spirit is our senior partner. He guides us in all truth. He interprets the scriptures to us, so we do not read or understand amiss. No believer can succeed without the help of the Holy Spirit. An attempt to live without the Holy Spirit’s help could only result in frustrations as one struggles with the requirements of the law, which is even more difficult.
The Holy Spirit our Comforter. He comforts us and shed His love in our hearts (Romans 5:5) thereby we have the peace that surpasses all human understanding breaking the limits of man.
We should therefore ensure that we do not grieve the Holy Spirit by any means. When he prompts us, we should listen and be ready to obey.
Ephesians 4:30 And grieve not the Holy Spirit of God, whereby ye are sealed unto the day of redemption.
