Hold Unto the Word
“But of the fruit of the tree which is in the midst of the garden, God hath said, Ye shall not eat of it, neither shall ye touch it, lest ye die. And the serpent said unto the woman, Ye shall not surely die.” Genesis 3:3-4.
The new year always starts on a high note for many people. As Christians, we receive words of prophecy and words of hope from the Lord to run throughout the year. We hold unto these words, waiting for their manifestations.
The scripture before us today shows how the devil can counter God’s words terribly. No wonder he is the father of all liars. God told Adam and Eve that they would die if they ate the fruit in the garden. Satan, through the serpent, had the “audacity” to say the exact opposite. He still does that today. He can begin to make one think that the visions and words we received from God are nothing but errors. Or make one think that it is impossible to see the fulfillment of God’s words. He may not come physically as he did with Eve. He might come with difficulties and challenges. They can be so gruesome that one might begin to doubt God, he can creep into the mind as well.
Know this brethren, the audacity of the devil cannot undermine the tenacity of the Word of God. It is tested and trusted. Joshua 21:45 Not a word failed of any good thing which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel. All came to pass. This is our testimony, as we put our total faith and trust in the Lord without wavering. Amen!
