Acknowledging the presence of God’s Spirit
The Spirit of the Lord is upon me, because he hath anointed me to preach the gospel to the poor; he hath sent me to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, and recovering of sight to the blind, to set at liberty them that are bruised. Luke 4:18
Christ took great pride in recognizing and acknowledging the presence of the spirit of God within Himself. This profound awareness significantly influenced the way He perceived and engaged with life, setting Him apart from being perceived as just an ordinary person walking on earth.
As the beloved children of God, we are not only regarded as heirs, but we are also recognized as joint heirs with Christ. This signifies a profound connection and partnership with Christ, allowing us to partake in and benefit from the experiences, spiritual connection, and divine guidance that Christ embodies. It emphasizes that we have the opportunity to access and attain the same level of spiritual communion and guidance that Christ exemplified during His time on earth.
In order to fully experience and benefit from our divine inheritance, it is crucial for us to willingly submit to the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit, which is the spirit of Christ dwelling within us, serves as a source of wisdom, comfort, and strength. By allowing the Holy Spirit to lead and influence our thoughts and actions, we can tap into the transformative power of divine guidance and experience a deeper connection to our spiritual inheritance.
The new mind in Christ refers to a mindset that is continuously filled with the teachings of God’s word and constantly renewed as it submits to the revealed word of God. This process involves embracing and internalizing the principles and truths found in the scriptures, allowing them to shape one’s thoughts and actions in alignment with the teachings of Christ.
Feasting on God’s word is more than just reading; it’s a spiritual act of nourishment. In the Bible, God reveals Himself, and through His word, we can encounter His presence and allow Him to transform our thinking. When we immerse ourselves in His word, we open ourselves to the renewing work of the Holy Spirit, allowing God to shape our minds and hearts according to His will.
Prayers:
Help me Lord to find treasure in your word, so that I may cherish and hold unto it for the dally renewal of my mind. Amen.
