Examine Your Heart
“As a man thinketh in his heart so he is” Proverb 23:7
One of the most amazing gifts that God has given us as humans is our minds. The ability to learn, think, choose, and reason makes us human. Your thoughts become a reflection of who you are. God certainly understands this such that His words addressed the activities of our hearts severally. Our hearts (minds) produce our thought and that leads mostly to our actions. Every thought comes out of our heart, this is why the Bible says: guard your heart diligently, out of it comes the issue of life (Proverb 4:23). Your actions are an outgrowth of your thoughts, so managing your thoughts helps you control your actions. Your thoughts can keep you young or make you age faster, it can make or mar you. The Bible says out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
God in His magnificent power has good thoughts toward us. God’s thought led to His action of creating man. His thoughts which were expressed in Jeremiah 29:11 is to give us hope and a future. Embracing these thoughts of God in our hearts would transform our reasonings and assure us of a brighter and positive future. Hence, our hearts can produce good thoughts when we embrace the word of God and accept His promises for our lives.
To produce good and godly thoughts from your heart, do the following:
- Constantly study the Word of God (2Timothy 2:15)
- Surround yourself with positive people
- Rely solely on God’s promises
Finally, to have great achievements and the positive impacts you so desire, you must give your heart to Jesus to take charge of you and allow Him to direct your path.
