The Hand Of God
Ezra 7:6 says, “This Ezra went up from Babylon; and he was a ready scribe in the law of Moses, which the LORD God of Israel had given: and the king granted him all his request, according to the hand of the LORD his God upon him.”
The passage from Ezra 7:6 recounts the journey of Ezra from Babylon, highlighting his expertise as a scribe in the law of Moses and the favor he received from the king, attributed to the hand of the LORD God of Israel upon him.
This passage serves as a compelling encouragement for us to actively seek the hand of God in our lives, acknowledging its unparalleled ability to pave the way, unlock doors, and grant divine access to the blessings and opportunities that lie ahead. It recounts the remarkable story of Ezra, who, despite finding himself in a foreign land with scarce resources, experienced the fulfillment of his requests due to the presence of the Lord in his life. It is truly inspiring to hear accounts of individuals who have encountered similar divine favor, gaining access to opportunities and blessings not as a result of their own merit or connections, but as a manifestation of God’s providence upon them.
Ezra was a man who spent a lot of time with God by continuously studying the word of God. It was reported that he was a profound scribe of the law of Moses, which was considered the Bible during his time. He spent a great deal of time reading and writing so that his people could learn more about God. Because of this, the hand of God was with him. When a person spends time in the presence of God through prayers and meditation on God’s word, they become a target for favor and good success.
Let’s pray: “Oh Lord, by Your Mighty Hand upon me, grant me access to kings, leaders, and those in positions of power and authority in Jesus’ name. According to Your Hand upon me, let all my requests be granted, let my resources come, let my helpers come, and let doors of favor and blessings be opened to me in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
