Psalm 23-1 The Lord is my shepherd; I have all that I need.
These days, we all have many needs to meet and the resources are becoming more and more scarce. Hence, we are daily faced with anxiety and worries about how to sustain ourselves.
In this week\’s devotion we can take solace from the word of God in Psalms 23 where the David vehemently confess God as his Shepherd who meets his daily need. The word Shepherd here reveals a relationship between us and God that shows care, love, hope and sustainance.
A Shepherd will do everything to meet the neeeds of his sheep including feeding, nourishment, protection from wolves and grooming. We have a relationship with God as our Shepherd and he is always available to take good care of us as He said in John 10.
He says, Jeremiah 29:11 \’For I know the thoughts that I think towards you, saith the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil to give you an expected end.
The beautiful thing about our relationship with God is that He is always faithful to His words. So, if God says He would give you hope and a future, you can be certain that He would do as He said.
We, therefore, have the same confidence as Paul to confess God\’s word in Philippians 4:19, which says:
But my God shall supply all your needs according to His riches In glory by Christ Jesus.
An assurance in this Words, guarantees our provision. God will surely make a provision because He is the Jehovah Jireh.
Consequently, let us lay aside all forms of discouragement, hopelessness and worries, and cast all our cares and burdens upon God, for He will surely provide for us (1Peter5:7)
