\”But why do you call me Lord, Lord and not do the things which I say?\” Luke 6:46

Merrian-Webster dictionary defines Lord as someone or something having power, authority, or influence. When we call someone our Lord, that person is our master, commander and the person who has power over us. We are to hear and obey him. Jesus asked us the question, why should we call Him Lord and not obey his instruction?

This is a serious question that calls for a reflection on our sincerity. How sincere are we about proclaiming Christ as our Lord? We do not just need to call Him Lord or hear what he has to say; we MUST OBEY Him if truly He is our LORD.

In Matt 7:21, Jesus said, \”not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of God, but he that does the will of my Father.\”

Many of us miss out on the doing. We are quick to hear, teach and preach, but very few go as far as doing.

Jesus is interested in the doers, for it is the doer that is blessed. James 1:22 says we deceive ourselves when we do not do what we hear or preach.

Beloved, please look inward today, reflect on your sincerity in your relationship with Jesus. Is He truly your Lord?

If He is your Lord, then DO what He Tells You!

God bless you.
