Phil.2:13- For it is God which worketh in you both to will and to do of his good pleasure.

What does it mean to align?
It means to identify with or match the behaviour, thoughts, etc. of another
Unfortunately, many children of God are only WILLING to DO His good pleasure, but the power to do it is not there in their lives.

No wonder Apostle Paul said:
Romans 7:15 KJV \”For that which I do I allow o not: for what I would, that do I not; but what I hate that do I.\”
What exactly is His Will?
His will is anything you do, say, think or act that makes God happy (that gives Him pleasure). And for you to do that, you must find out what His will is through His Word and revelation-1Cor.2:10
As we grow up in our Christian faith, the enablement to do the father\’s pleasure is supposed to be increasing in our lives if truly we are serious with our spiritual growth, but the opposite is the case. The more we grow in Him, the easier His pleasure becomes for us. However, if you are still finding it difficult to do His pleasure, you need to work on yourself.
As we grow up, God wants us to think as He thinks, wants us to know His mind, having the same thought as His. However, aligning with His will is not what is achievable overnight; it is what is done through:

  • Constant relationship with Him (Holy Spirit)
  • Consistent study of the word of God-Josh.1:8
  • Discipleship

One thing is to know His will; another thing is to do His will. God does not just want you to know His will; He wants you to do His will. It is your submission to His will that shows your level of spiritual maturity.
Conclusion: God wants you to do His will and not just to will it.
